Such an excellent tutorial. Other instructors that I have seen for this kind of hem has the original gold thread taken out before sewing the original hem on to the pant leg. I think it makes so much more sense to do it the way you are showing - after the hem is sewn. Makes the concept of tucking seam allowance inside much clearer.

This is a combination of the Euro heam and American hem. Basically, it's the Euro Hem without cutting off the original hem and sewing them back on.
